Kennel Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in providing care and support for our furry friends. This position requires a strong love for animals, excellent animal handling skills, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

- Provide daily care and maintenance for animals in the kennel

- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas

- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs

- Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress

- Exercise and socialize animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being

- Assist with basic training exercises for dogs

- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting is preferred but not required

- Strong animal handling skills, including the ability to safely restrain animals when necessary

- Knowledge of basic dog training techniques is a plus

- Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, as some tasks may require heavy lifting

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from staff

- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings
