Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare the treatment area and the equipment before administering radiation therapy
- Explain the treatment procedure, its benefits, and potential side effects to the patient and their family
- Position the patient accurately using immobilization devices and positioning aids
- Operate the radiation therapy equipment and monitor the patient throughout the treatment process
- Maintain patient records and treatment plans
- Collaborate with the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify treatment plans as necessary
- Ensure the safety of patients, co-workers, and the public by following radiation safety protocols
RequirementsQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or a related field
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
- Physical stamina and dexterity to position patients and operate equipment
