Accountants One hired to help an established home-builder hire a Controller. This is an exciting time to join as they enter a period of significant growth. The principals are well-established and have plenty of access to both land and funding.

This Controller role is very hands-on, a “player/coach” helping lead a small accounting team. The Controller also oversees Human Resources, IT, and Payroll. This is a critical role and requires a “what can I do today” attitude.

Job Duties:

• Lead the month-end close process and produce financial statements
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package for owners including analysis and forecasting
• Cash management and forecasting
• Lead home closing process from an accounting perspective
• Manage Accounts Payable
• Work closely with banking relationships and private lenders
• Manage and perform cost accounting

Job Requirements:

• Accounting degree
• CPA a plus, not required
• Home building / residential construction required
• Experience with construction loans/draws
• Job Cost / Project Cost experience
• Successful experience leading and developing an accounting team
• Experience in a fast-growth organization, process improvements
