INcompass Healthcare is Hiring an Employment Placement Specialist Near Lawrenceburg, IN

General Responsibilities

The Employment Specialist will be an active member of the C.A.S.E. Program. This individual will be responsible for development of job placements for individuals being served by the C.A.S.E. Program. Responsibilities will include: assessment, job development, planning, placement, training, job coaching, and case management/ADL Skill Development services.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Behavioral Sciences or Rehabilitation preferred. Basic knowledge for assessing vocational needs of persons being served. Experience with clients in mental health setting is preferred. Relevant professional and life experience may also be considered in lieu of degree.
Direct Services Activities
  • Performs appropriate assessments necessary to determine strengths and vocational needs.
  • Conducts necessary interviews with client, family, and others necessary to the assessment process.
  • Determines relevant conditions, standards and requirements that must be considered when planning or delivering services.
  • Works with local employers to develop jobs within the service area for assigned clients.
  • Develops and maintains close relationships with employers.
  • Develops and procures work placements for referred individuals.
  • Learns job tasks or work placements for referred individuals.
  • Develops Individual Rehabilitation Plans for clients based on assessment and the client’s needs.
  • Develops the Individual Rehabilitation Plan in conjunction with the treatment team.
  • Monitors, evaluates and updates plan based on client’s changing needs.
  • Works with employers to prepare job sites.
  • Works with the employers and their employees to help them understand reasonable expectations for clients place in working environments within their companies.
  • Learns the job by completing a job analysis.
  • Provides training for the client to assist them in a successful work experience.
  • Provides training to prepare individuals for job placement.
  • Provides referrals and follow-up to those individuals pursuing training in college, technical colleges, or Adult Basic Education courses needed to become more marketable.
  • Assists other treatment team members in understanding the
  • Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) System, Supportive Employment, Individual Placement Services (IPS), Ticket to Work (TTW), etc.
  • Trains the selected individual in the work placement position until client-trainee reaches a satisfactory level of performance.
  • Ensures that satisfactory performance occurs in the situation until the individual is successfully transferred to follow-up and support, or is placed in another setting.
  • Provides on-going support to individuals placed in jobs.
  • Assists in the process of fading. Either directly provides follow along or transfers responsibility to other members of the treatment team.
  • Attends scheduled conferences on individuals, providing appropriate input.
  • Maintains close working relationships with the supervisors at the work sites.
Community Development
  • Develops and maintains an awareness of community resources.
  • Provides linkage with other agencies in the community, to meet clients’ identified needs.
  • Develops new resources in the community.
  • Provides education to the community (e.g., employers, families, etc.) through presentations and day-to-day contacts about employment supports.
Productivity
  • Meets the productivity requirements budgeted for the position.
Record Keeping Activities
  • Completes Individual Service Notes (ISNs) to ensure accurate data collection for billing and service for client care tracking system.
  • Completes and maintains all program required documentation.
  • Completes attendance reports, PTO requests, travel vouchers, staff development requests, self-performance evaluations, etc., accurately and efficiently in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Staff Development Activities
  • Actively participates in the Center’s Staff Development Program by fulfilling identified items on the Individual Employee Development Plan (IEDP.)
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, full staff meetings, etc. as assigned.
  • Attends Bloodborne Pathogen/TB/Infection Control training at employment and annually thereafter.
  • Attends conferences, workshops, meetings, in-services, etc. to enhance professional knowledge and development according to the need identified on the IEDP.
  • Participates in the clinical supervision program as appropriate.
  • Assists with development of volunteers.
Other Duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
