Job Description: Scribe - Oak Lawn, IL

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team in Oak Lawn, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist in documenting patient encounters, managing patient flow, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Assist the ophthalmologist in managing patient flow
• Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance
• Ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an ophthalmic scribe
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR)
• Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
