SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Floor Care Specialist is responsible for cleaning and maintaining carpets and flooring throughout the Ahern Hotel. This team member is required to properly use cleaning and maintenance chemicals as well as floor cleaning equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting.

• Operate all equipment with care and according to facility and manufacturers safety standards and procedures.

• Clean and perform routine maintenance on floor equipment.

• Adhere to all organizational safety and risk management standards and promote a culture of safety.

• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Practice critical thinking skills to include prioritization.

• Demonstrate personal accountability.

• Identify and utilize appropriate resources to ensure identified problems or concerns are addressed and resolved.

• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Previous floor care maintenance experience desired, to include carpet cleaning, wax and epoxy.

• Knowledge and skills in the use of power equipment, conventional and high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet, dry and power vacuum equipment and push sweeper.

• Effectively uses computers and mobile devices.

• Ability to work without close supervision.

• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call.

• Ability to read, write and comprehend written and verbal English.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• HVAC certification preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.

• Ability to push/lift 50 pounds.

• Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, and crouching as needed.

• Working in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.

• Working around various cleaning chemicals.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

• Could require use of face masks or respirators.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• For Full-Time employees, expect to work an 8-hour shift on average, including weekends if necessary.

• Comply with the brand and hygiene policies.

Ahern Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel and event venue in Las Vegas, Nevada. Acquired in 2019, it is located near the Las Vegas Strip.
