About The OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to play a vital role in providing patients with diagnostic imaging services. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to prescribed protocols.
- Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures using gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other specialized equipment.
- Position patients for optimal imaging and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Maintain meticulous patient records, including dosage calculations and procedure details.
- Process and analyze images to ensure quality and provide them to physicians for interpretation.
- Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure.
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Educate patients about nuclear medicine procedures and address their concerns.
- May participate in research activities or quality improvement initiatives.
- Current certification by ARRT (N) or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Current certification by the State of New Mexico in Nuclear Medicine.
- Graduation from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Minimum one year of experience working in an acute care facility preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
