CableServices Company headquartered in Williamsport PA performsconstruction and cable installation projects within a five to sixstate area in the Northeast region of the US.
Project hours vary byproject and can be influenced by weather. Frequent overnight travelis required along with overtime in order to meet project relateddeadlines.

AFiber Splicer will perform cable splicing in the air undergroundindoors and outdoors. In addition this position requires frequenttravel in which the employee would be away from home.
This position requiresovernight work during consumer nonpeak usage hours (Midnight to7am) along with shared weekend oncall status for emergencyrestoration.
EssentialFunctions andResponsibilities

Installtroubleshoot and maintain fiber opticsystem
Prepand hang fiber optic enclosures nodes and relatedequipment
Routesplice and / or terminate fiber in equipment racks at central officeshub sites or inside ofbuildings
Workwith OSP Project Managers to perform fusion splicing asdirected
Readdesign maps fiber schematics and basic electronicdesigns
Operateaerial lift and other related equipment to perform jobfunctions
Requiredto be oncall for emergencyrestoration
Frequentlycommunicate with management on workloadstatus
Mayoccasionally perform routine construction work such as pullingrope / cables climbing ladders using hand tools digging with a shoveletc.
Accuratelycomplete all required company documentation for each assignmentaccording to established company standards and procedures (ietimesheet truck report expensereport)
Responsiblefor assigned company vehicle tools materials andequipment
Performwork in a safe manner and comply with all established companysafety policies andprocedures
Performother duties and tasks as assigned in order to help team complete aproject
RequiredEducation andExperience
Minimumof 2 years experience splicing all types of fiber opticcables
Highschool diploma orGED
Experienceworking in a bucket truck at heights in excess of 3040ft.
Proficiencyusing related splicing equipment including fusion splicers OTDRoptical power meters fiber identifiers and all related splicingtools
Abilityto distinguish betweencolors
Experiencereading design maps fiber schematics and basic electronicdesigns
Mustpossess exceptional organizational skills and be detailedoriented
Mustbe able to occasionally move materials / equipment weighing up to 80pounds
Abilityto maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that canprovide high productivity with minimalsupervision
PreferredEducation andExperience
5years of experience splicing all types of fiber opticcables
AdditionalEligibilityQualifications
Validdrivers license with a clean drivingrecord
Abilityto pass a criminal background screen and drugtest
WorkEnvironment
Whileperforming this job the employee may be occasionally required tostand walk handle or operate object tools orcontrols
Oftenwork will be performed near busy highways and streets Work may beperformed in a confined splice trailer or in an outdoorenvironment
