Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal facilities.
  • Prepare comprehensive studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide spectrum of transportation projects.
  • Assist Project Managers in maintaining client relations, stakeholder management, and coordinating subconsultants.
  • Collaborate closely with a dynamic team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully execute various projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians on various design support tasks.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial concept to final completion.
  • Act as the transportation design lead on significant, multi-discipline projects.
  • Conduct field observations as needed to enhance project outcomes.
Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • 4-10 years of experience in the design of transportation facilities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in software tools such as MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other software commonly used in transportation engineering.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thrive in a team-oriented environment with strong collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
  • Express a strong desire for personal and professional growth within a team environment that strives to create designs aligning with our clients' overarching project objectives.
  • Possess prior experience as a project design lead
  • Hydraulics and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus.

Required License or Certification: 

  • Active Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state within 6 months of hire.

Base salary range for this position is: $90,000/yr - $115,000/yr dependent on individual education, qualifications, experience, and other factors.
