Independent School District 196 is Hiring a Building Engineer Near Lakeville, MN

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency required. Formal vocational training pertaining to building maintenance preferred.
  • Previous experience as a custodial supervisor/lead, in a school, public building or hospital.
  • Ability to supervise, assign work, evaluate and monitor the performance of custodial and maintenance staff.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of HVAC equipment, building automation systems and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance program.
  • First Class C boiler license required, Chief C preferred.
  • Unlicensed Electrician Registration required or must be willing to obtain within three months.
  • Must have a good attendance record and be punctual.
  • Must have positive work performance evaluations. Must not have any recent disciplinary actions.
  • Must conduct a positive interview and receive a good reference from current and previous supervisors.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise, inspect, and coordinate work requests with custodial and maintenance staff.
  • Meet regularly with building principal to coordinate activities.
  • Maintain building logs and supply inventories.
  • Comply with building and district energy saving programs.
  • Perform or delegate preventative maintenance tasks, maintain preventative maintenance database.
  • Perform grounds maintenance duties, pull weeds, mow and snow removal, etc. Operate and repair grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Conduct weekend and holiday building checks. Must have reliable communications technology (cell phone) for after hour call backs or questions.
  • Performs building custodial & maintenance tasks and food service duties as required.
  • Completes scheduled job performance evaluations for custodial staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform duties in a timely, neat and efficient manner.
