HEARTH & HOME TECHNOLOGIES is Hiring a Manufacturing Buyer Near Lake, MN
The Manufacturing Buyer will play a pivotal role in advancing HHT's vision and objectives by enhancing material and information flow through ongoing improvements and knowledge sharing with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include procurement of direct and indirect materials, strategic planning of raw material needs, fostering supplier relationships, and contributing to product lifecycle management and service design.
What You Will Do
- Effectively manage our supply base to continually achieve best in class quality performance.
- Optimize delivery models to minimize supplier lead-times while improving on-time delivery performance,
- Develop innovative solutions to achieve the best total cost targets.
- Prepare and administer PO’s to assure daily production demands are met while managing sufficient inventory levels to meet days of supply targets.
- Create raw material forecasts and maintain safety stock levels to effectively manage working capital.
- Prepare / evaluate competitive requests for quotes and qualify samples by following the production part approval process.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles and continually focus on process / material flow improvements to drive shareholder value.
- Support HHT's supplier challenge program to build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships.
- Provide timely resolution to engineering change order requests and accounts payable inquiries.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
- MRP knowledge (Manage 2000 / Epicor is preferred)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Office 365) with advanced Excel skills
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
