Seminole County, FL is Hiring a Project Manager I Near Lake, FL

Description

Under limited supervision, is responsible for managing the design and construction of various County Capital Improvement projects. Projects may include but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, drainage, buildings, and building renovations & alterations.


**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

**Additional compensation based on licensure.

Essential Functions

Note: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.

Plans, manages, administers and organizes design and construction of projects. Creates contract scope and administers contracts.
Plans, estimates, and implements design and construction contracts and projects. Participates in design development.
Manages the bidding and execution of construction contracts which may include contracts with Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) consultants.
Provides presentations at public meetings and other meetings with public groups and associations.
Represents Seminole County in communicating with engineers, and contractors while construction is in progress.
Reviews and evaluates contract deliverables and approves invoices, change orders, and other contract documents.
Participates in the budget process for the division.


Additional Duties
:

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Performs other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architectural, Construction Management, Construction Technology, Building Construction, or a closely related field is required.
A minimum of five (5) Years of experience is required in design and construction project management.

A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
Complete knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and construction specifications.
Familiar with automated office systems (Word, Excel, Project or Primavera P6, CAD etc.).
Extensive Knowledge of construction and design methods, practices and contract administration
Possess knowledge of the Florida Department of Transportation standards & specifications.
Possess knowledge of Florida Uniform Building Code and the permitting process for County, DEP, FDOT, and SJRWMD.
Knowledge of construction trades.
Ability to effectively administer and manage construction and design contracts and projects through completion and closeout of the project.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with elected officials, engineers, contractors, and job site personnel.

Ability to make presentations before large and small groups.
