The purpose of this position is to provide functional staff-level program support, policy/guidance clarification, field operating and corporate expertise for food production, quality assurance, financial management, and inventory control support to worldwide Air Force Food & Beverage operations.
Assists in developing food and beverage concepts, programs, menu items, and menus in support AF Food and Beverage operations. Collect and analyze installation level operations data to determine compliance with applicable regulations, directives, procedures and policies. Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates actual and/or potential problem areas within AF Food & Beverage activities. Provides recommendations to the Chief, APF Food & Beverage on program management reports and valid data collection required to keep the program within budget parameters. Establishes metrics and analysis systems to evaluate effectiveness of food operations and ensure data collections are timely and reviewed at critical points. Analyzes complex problems discovered in operational and financial information and presents alternative methods for use in planning effective programs and improve programming decisions. Conducts implementation, initial opening training, grand opening, and follow-on assistance for new Food and Beverage operations. Trains managers, supervisors, cooks, and food service workers on all aspects of food handling food preparation, food production, sanitation and housekeeping, food cost management, ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing. Conducts Program Management Review Visits to evaluate Food and beverage accounting, kitchen operations, budgeting, funds control, and inventory management principles. Prepares reports on findings and provides administrative guidance and technical advice to commanders and functional program directors. Conducts normal staff duties which include originating and replying to inquiries, reports, or suspense. Develops briefings, point papers, and position statements for installation visits. Coordinates with appropriate staff offices to ensure major areas of concern are covered by planning and programming documents. Performs other duties as assigned.
