MISSION STATEMENT Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and recently incarcerated people, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community.
JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the GO Program Manager, the GO Case Manager will work with the Workforce Development (WFD) team, key partners, and employers to assist jobseekers within vulnerable populations (e.g., reentry, homeless and disabled) to develop job readiness skills, enter and maintain placement within living-wage careers. The GO Employment Counselor will work to strengthen the local workforce sectors by increasing the employability and placement opportunities of jobseekers while simultaneously cultivating business relationships and providing employers with skilled applicants. The GO Case Manager will track and document all services provided to clients and employers as well as progress towards grant outcomes. They will also enter, organize, and maintain accurate data, reporting, and main files for all participants to successfully meet grant outcomes. The Go Case Manager will coordinate and collaborate with all WFD staff, HBI departments, and outside partners/employers to ensure effective and streamlined services and delivery.
DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES - Conduct GO grant intake eligibility screening for program enrollment and assist participants with completing forms and obtaining verification documentation.
- Create and maintain physical and electronic participant files by logging events and case notes in the organization’s case management information system
- Track and organize weekly job-readiness training, placement, case notes and outcome progress on Care4 and internal tracking sheets.
- Assess each trainee’s education level, work history, strengths, challenges, and desired career pathway/s.
- Listen to participant needs and assist with barrier removal through outside and/ or in -house referrals (e.g., Education, Tattoo Removal, Housing, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Legal Services, etc.).
- Track attendance and hours of work experience, training and other events assigned by HBI staff.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and violence prevention classes
- Support the job search and application process for trainees by connecting to employment opportunities and facilitating development of a resume, online employment site profile/s, and interview skills.
- Provide supportive services (e.g., tools, uniform, transportation assistance, etc.) as available.
- Document any employment updates, and other status updates (e.g., incarceration, relapse, retirement, health/medical, deceased, family care, lack of transportation, cannot locate, etc.)
- Provide follow up and retention services, such as: supportive services, connect to work- related support groups, assist with getting a wage increase, referrals to community resources, mentoring and overall career counseling.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - High School Diploma or GED
- Computer proficient (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to maintain strong professional and personal boundaries, while still providing mentorship to individuals, as needed.
- Experience working with diverse population. Capacity to manage and lead people; team builder; ability to connect with staff both on an individual and group level.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE $24.00 - $25.00
