Pediatrix Eye Care is a high volume, fast paced, specialty eye clinic, focusing on both medical and routine eye care for children and some adults.
The Ophthalmic Tech performs both clinical and administrative duties. They support patient care by taking medical histories, performing preliminary testing and administering medications as needed. They are responsible for triaging urgent cases, educating patients and parents as well as maintaining clear communication between doctors and staff to maximize the patient experience.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Patient workups include obtaining detailed medical histories and chief complaints
- Assist physicians with any in office, patient procedures
- Administering topical eye medications
- Scribing (inputting relevant information into the electronic health record)
- Answering patient questions, triaging calls, patient education
- Preliminary testing that includes visual acuities, stereopsis, eye teaming, extraocular muscle movement, visual field testing, fundus photos,lensometry, tonometry and refractometr
The expected pay for the position ranges from $18.03 - $31.25 per hour. The actual pay range will be computed based on years of relevant experience.
