Notice to Applicant about this Employer: You are applying for a job with an independently owned cooperative member of Ace Hardware Corporation, who operates this Ace Hardware store, not Ace Hardware Corporation. The independent store owner and his leadership team are responsible for and independently makes all decisions concerning employment related matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing and scheduling.
Major Job Responsibilities
A store manager must work with customers to provide the best customer service possible, help grow and challenge store employees and work to increase sales. This includes the following:
Possess strong knowledge of product, services and store layout
Greet, welcome and work with customers to ensure that they have a positive experience in the store and that if they have a problem, its solved before they leave.
Help create a positive, professional, clean and safe environment
Help the store achieve Aces Pinnacle status and perform well within the outlined metrics provided by Ace
Use provided communication and own tools in an effort to become a strong and thorough leader
Have an awareness of store promotions, various advertisements and community events
Coordinate overall supervision of retail staff to ensure sales performance goals are met and procedures are followed accurately
Delegate daily workload as necessary
Ensure that any call, page and in store order is answered to quickly, politely and efficiently
Regulate retail inventory to reduce shrinkage and maintain appropriate stock levels
Direct the shipping, receiving and inventory flow of the store
Enforce safety policies and procedures; be a safety role model
Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
Act as the stores representative and set an example for our staff
Serve as a second set of eyes to cashiers and authorize overrides and returns in alignment with company policies
Balance cash drawers and make inferences if something is not correct with drawers
Follow all opening and closing procedures in order to make sure the store is ready for customers and ready to be closed for the evening.

Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work a full, 40 hours week
High school or GED equivalent
Minimum of 3-5 year of retail management experience
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the business
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual
Higher education coursework completed
Knowledge of Ace retail operating systems
