Summary :

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments. Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.

The position requires a hardworking individual who can complete tasks successfully with little to no supervision. You will be responsible for picking & shipping orders, documenting orders, and storing merchandise.

In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, our ideal candidate must be able to lift up to 75lbs on a continuous basis.

You will also possess in-depth knowledge of various warehouse machinery and equipment such as pallet jacks, scissor lifts and forklifts.

Pay : $24.00 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Must always understand and demonstrate safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment
• Contribute to the accomplishment of key performance indicators
• Obtain and process product orders based on shipping backlog
• Keep files of goods shipped by preparing regular shipping reports for managers
• Utilize RF scanner to transfer materials from location to location
• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling
• Trouble shoots shipping issues and work to solve them
• Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods
• Keep warehouse and workstations clean and neat
• Communicate and work closely with other departments to resolve order release issues, expedite rush orders, etc.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting
• Previous forklift experience / training
• Ability to lift up to a maximum of 100 pounds
• Availability to work overtime including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary
• Responsible for keeping the work area clean and free of any safety hazards always
• Must wear appropriate attire for warehouse setting as described in employee handbook
• Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and written / verbal communication skills

• Must be comfortable working in a complex production machining and assembly environment
• The working area is primarily in a manufacturing environment located around machines and heavy equipment such as a forklift or pallet operator
• Operation of the machine requires working with, and coming into contact with, various materials and substances

• Working temperatures may vary from hot, cold, humid, wet or dry
• Working hours may be extended and weekends may be required in order to meet manufacturing needs
