Experience and knowledge of gasoline engine and gasoline powered equipment maintenance
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to comprehend English (written and oral)
Primary PurposeHelp maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe and efficient operating condition of maintenance equipment.
- Perform repairs and/or new installations on all ground equipment.
- Recommend when repair and/or installation assistance should be obtained.
- Practice all safety regulations related to trade.
- Report any safety hazards existing with maintenance equipment.
- Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase.
- Check and maintain district maintenance department equipment on a regular basis for purpose of preventive maintenance.
- Must be able to use all types of welding equipment.
Working ConditionsModerate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposed to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
