News Press Gazette is Hiring an Accounting Associate Near Joseph, MO
News-Press & Gazette Co is looking for an Accounting Associate I-II – Accounts Payable to support our Finance Department at the St. Joseph corporate office.
This position will support the AR/AP Manager and Controller across multiple NPG entities including newspaper, broadcast, and data centers. Responsibilities include setting up vendors, ensuring proper coding of invoices, obtaining proper authorization for payment, and collecting 1099 information. In addition to understanding the accounts payable cycles, this position is responsible for delinquent invoices, invoice/payment discrepancies, reconciliations, and supporting all business managers to ensure invoices are processed timely.
Preferred associate degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience directly related to Accounts Payable. Knowledgeable of 1099 tax preparation, reconciliation, sales, and use tax desired. Must be self-directed, work in high volume atmosphere, ability to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, and initiate solutions. Candidate must demonstrate strong internal and external written and oral communication skills.
