About the Role: Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Finance Associate assumes a significant role in the financial decision-making and policy formation of the company. Specific areas of responsibility include Budget, Procurement, Accounts Receivable/Payable and all daily bookkeeping. This position has responsibility for managing the annual operating budget and provides assistance to all financial operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Plan, organize and manage the financial operations of the company including financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and revenue cycle functions.

- Ensure internal and external deadlines are met for financial statements, audits, cost reports, etc.

- Manages the company’s annual operating budget and develops long-range financial forecasts to ensure efficient resource allocation and adequate funding for operations and long-term capital needs.

- Conduct weekly reconciliation of accounts.

- Create and send out monthly invoices to clients.

- Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable.

- Prepare all necessary documentation requested by accountant to prepare taxes and all other quarterly and annual filings required by law.

- When necessary, call the IRS and state agencies on behalf of the company to discuss and resolve tax related issues.

- Process bi-weekly payroll with payroll company.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate has experience working with government and city agencies, as well as experience working in the finance, project management and/or construction industries. 

We look for teammates who are humble, curious, kind, proactive, resourceful. We are a small company- being nimble, flexible and not afraid of getting your hands dirty is a must. 

We are looking for:

- Bachelor’s Degree required and preferred in Accounting, Business, Finance or related area.

- Master’s Degree preferred, MBA or equivalent

- Two years related operational experience (preferably in finance, project management and/or construction management) or a relevant combination of education and experience highly desirable. 

- Demonstrated capacity for high-level strategic thinking and creativity, especially as it relates to issues of organizational design and efficiency. 

- Experience with managing complexity and instituting new policies and procedures using a data-driven approach a must. 

- Superior judgment, discretion, and interpersonal abilities, as well as strong financial budgeting, information technology abilities, written and organizational skills.

- Must be able to work with diverse constituencies and support an inclusive work environment.
