General DescriptionThe Clinical Director provides the leadership to effectively grow the behavioral health services within Integrated Family Services (IFS) by ensuring clinical excellence, operating efficiency, and financial strength. This includes leadership in developing a strong behavioral health team and community partnerships to ensure the clinical excellence and operational performance of behavioral health services. The Clinical Director is also responsible for implementing a strategic plan to ensure the success of the behavioral health services’ clinical, financial, and overall operating performance and successful growth. The Clinical Director directs, administers, and coordinates the overall operations of the clinical services, including the goals and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer of the organization.
Position Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the effective service delivery of IFS’ services, programs, and daily operations by leading and driving the vision and strategy for the overall organization goals, objectives, and initiatives.
  • While ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the organization, foster a healthy culture by creating a trauma-informed, values driven workplace that supports youth-guided and family-driven care, the retention of employees, and maintaining applicable policies and standards of the organization.
  • Accountable for the overall direction and positive leadership and day to day management of the organization, while maintaining a healthy and high-performing culture among employees that supports staff development and reinforces effective supervisory engagement and the collaborative management of others.
  • Manage the daily operations of the organization by supporting the effective functioning of all departments and ensuring that the physical locations are well maintained, safe, and conducive to the therapeutic treatment and engagement of youth and families.
  • Partner and work collaboratively with other agency Directors to promote operational excellence and efficiency through best practice sharing and adoptions of standardized approaches across all agencies where appropriate.
  • Actively involved in promoting positive public relations, marketing, and community relations by participating in community events, appropriate civic, governmental, and political advocacy, and agency.
  • Develop a strong referral base by actively promoting services and achieving high satisfaction with the youth, family, and referral agent experiences as demonstrated by positive results on satisfaction surveys and a steady stream of admissions and requests of services.
  • Maintain appropriate census and budget expectations for long-term sustainability, as well as manage expenses and increase revenue and/or diversify funding streams to ensure that the strategic goals of assigned services and the mission are achieved.
  • Actively look for ways to expand and grow services and be innovative with programs to keep up with sector trends to enhance better outcomes and impact.
  • Build from research and best practices, by incorporating state-of-the-art clinical services and programming that generate positive, long-term outcomes.
  • Support an active continuous quality improvement and risk management culture in which key organization and agency performance indicators are routinely identified, monitored and improved.
  • Lead and adjust the agency’s strategic planning process, execution and achievement of relevant goals and strategies to address current needs as well as long-term planning.
  • Ensure that the agency adheres to the requirements of all licensing, contracting and accrediting bodies.
  • All other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education And Experience Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Psychology or a related Human Services field; and
  • Holds a full, unrestricted license as a clinical social worker (LCSW) or clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) or psychiatric nurse or psychiatric nurse practitioner in the state of North Carolina.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • A minimum of 3 years clinical experience in providing the following services: conducting assessments, reviewing assessments, providing clinical supervision, developing and implementing treatment plan objectives, providing individual and family therapy, and implementing crisis interventions.
