RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead finance departments and directly manage subordinates as required. (Accounting Manager / Staff Accountant / AR Specialist / AP Specialist (indirect)
• Own the whole Finance Departments' performance ensuring appropriate resources are applied and members are trained, developed, and supported accordingly to deliver
• Deliver all required accounting and management reporting requirements of The Company
• Deliver process and accounting system changes to support changing corporate structures and needs of the business. A specific example being implementation and scaling of retail operations
• Ensure delivery of external and internal audits in a timely fashion
• Ensure corporate tax (direct and indirect) and payroll tax compliance
• Manage cash flows, payment and collections infrastructure and performance
• Ensure an effective internal control framework, legal / governmental compliance
• Lead the analysis of accounting impact of new accounting standards and new business initiatives
• Seek commercial benefits to the company from business activities by process improvements and other means
• Manage the company' insurance arrangements
• Responsibility for project management with CFO, including allocation of tasks, monitoring performance, reviewing output and general line management
• Any other ad hoc duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Exhibits professional attitude to represent Finance Department on Senior Management Team
• Holds an accounting qualification – preferably CPA - with min 5 years PQE in commercial roles
• Has experience managing a medium sized finance department as a positive role model
• Has excellent communication and relationship building skills with team members, colleagues, and external parties
• Has track record of leading implementation of accounting impact of both accounting regulation and business changes
• Utilizes independent thinking and decision making
• Looks to identify and positively influence commercial opportunities
• Has ability to add value by managing non-financial areas
