MS-IL STAFFING is Hiring an EHS Coordinator Near Indianapolis, IN

Pro Talent Group, a division of MS-IL Staffing & Packaging, and its local client are NOW HIRING a full-time Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area!

The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator will provide full-time support to the operations of the Plant. This position will assist the Environmental Health & Safety department with the planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining of the environmental, occupational health, and safety programs in order to comply with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations as well as customer requirements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

· Responsible for assisting in the identification and evaluation of hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.

· Establish, conduct, or respond to health and safety risk assessments by identifying and assessing potential magnitude of risk by incorporating engineering and/or administrative controls.

· Review accidents, incidents, and injuries, conduct field audits and manage through corrective actions.

· Assist in the development and implementation of environmental and safety training programs.

· Coordinate and conduct training to communicate hazard control and policies to employees.

· Follow all safety procedures and always work as safe as possible.

· Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety.

· Assist in the development of environmental compliance programs related to hazardous wastes, air permitting, storm water, wastewater, etc.

· Oversee facility compliance with General Industrial Storm Water Permit and Facility Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan

· Complete monthly wastewater effluent and self-monitoring reports

· Assist with updating procedures for emergency situations by establishing medical response programs, site preparedness, and emergency plans.

· Assist in the preparation of writing permit applications in accordance with Federal, State, County and Local reporting requirements.

· Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory compliance.

· Participate in new product and process reviews including hazard analysis to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.

· Ensure that Contractor personnel working on the property follow the Contractor and Visitor Requirements Program.

· Schedule and conduct monthly Safety Committee Meetings, acting as chairperson.

· Facilitate Environmental Health and Safety portions of New Hire Orientation

· Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Required:

· Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred.

· 2 years related experience.

· Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· English required, Spanish is a plus

Skills for Success:

· Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, SharePoint).

· Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the health, safety and environmental fields.

· Ability to work at all levels within the organization and the ability to work in a diverse work group.

· Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills (training, presentations, and report writing).

· Can frequently talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

· Can occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

· Can regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently up to 25lbs, and occasionally up to 50lbs.

Work Environment:

· Employee works indoors a majority of the time and may require some work in the manufacturing facility.

· The noise level in the work environment can often be loud and disruptive due to the nature of working with Production.

· May be exposed to moving mechanical parts.

· Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and extreme heat.

· Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but the employee may occasionally be exposed to high level noises including but not limited to manufacturing equipment.
