Duties and responsibilities:
• Financial records: Responsible for maintaining accurate financial accounts for several project companies using NetSuite Oracle, complete monthly close processes including reviewing the preparation of journal entries through posting. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, monthly, and prepare audit schedules for quarterly reviews. Review accounting documents and project agreements to ensure accuracy of information and calculations.
• Financial reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for each asset and a consolidation of the group of assets, expenditure variance to budget reports and quarterly management reports for assigned project companies. Perform various monthly reports for Site Managers and Upper Management. Prepare quarterly management reports and monthly flash information for reporting to Senior Management and the PE firm
• Financial support duties: Maintain various tax accounts such as use tax, property tax and other Federal and State tax accounts. Provide technical support to financial and government auditors (preparing schedules, answering questions, reviewing financial statements), assist Managers with analytical reviews and other special projects, as needed.
• Operational support duties: Work closely with the Managers and Operations personnel to understand what is going on in the business and to translate these business issues into the financial statements. This will include special projects, preparing draft monthly and quarterly commentary and performing operational analysis as required.
• Budgeting and forecasting duties: Assist in the preparation of yearly budgets and maintain monthly forecast models for a group of project companies. Work closely with the Asset Managers and present the proposed budget to Senior Management alongside of Operations Managers.
To be considered for this role candidates should have:
• At least 10 years of experience in the above functions
• Certified Public Accountant
• Experience with audits at/from a National Accounting Firm
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Strong technology skills including ERP system experience and intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience with budgeting and consolidation software a plus (Hyperion, Khalix, BPC).
• Resourceful, self-motivated with ability to work in an independent environment on multiple projects.
