Program Description:
With grant funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), DOHMH is undertaking a new initiative that will meet critical infrastructure needs and make possible strategic investments that will have lasting effects on public health. Investments and improvements through this initiative will help modernize DOHMH’s foundational capabilities and data infrastructure, enabling it to partner in complex health and health care environments and, in turn, support better public health outcomes, including COVID-19. This initiative supports larger efforts to rebalance investments in public health and more equitably serve communities and populations.
Summary of Position:
DOHMH has an opening for an IT Business Analyst within the Technology Strategy and Project Management bureau. This bureau provides exemplary project management, business analysis, vendor management and product support services to define and deliver IT solutions that meet the business needs of our partners throughout the agency. Bureau staff collaborate across the agency to conduct core business analyses of operations and recommend the most appropriate IT solutions; lead the IT governance process from project intake through the entire software development lifecycle; lead efforts in technology contracting and procurement processes; implement products in secure, flexible and scalable infrastructure; and provide excellent Level 2 product support for all IT systems.
The selected candidate will be an employee of Public Health Solutions, a nonprofit organization which is the fiscal and administrative manager of the grant but will work be supervised by DOHMH. This is a grant-funded position ending in November 2027.

The Business Analyst is “an agent of change” where they will statistically analyze large data sets to identify effective ways of boosting organizational efficiency. From leveraging data analytics for assessing processes and determining requirements to deliver policy recommendations, business analysts fill the vacuum between enterprises and their IT departments with actionable, data-driven insights that improve decision-making capabilities.
