Pay Rate: $15/hour, Tues. - Sat. 8:00 am - 12:30 pm

The Custodial Assistant at the Huntsville Museum of Art plays a vital role in preserving the pristine and inviting atmosphere of our institution. This position involves maintaining the cleanliness and order of the Museum's facilities, ensuring visitors have an enjoyable experience. The museum’s exhibits are a source of inspiration and education, and the Custodial Assistant has the unique opportunity to work in an environment that blends productivity with beauty. The Huntsville Museum of Art sits prominently in Big Spring Park and provides a central focus for area cultural activities. Founded in 1970 by the City of Huntsville ordinance, the Museum serves Huntsville and Madison County’s combined population of 420,000 residents and visitors both domestic and international.

The Custodial Assistant position is a part-time position. It requires at least two previous years of custodian type of work experience and a true attention to detail. The Custodian Assistant will attend to the needs of the entire facility. The position requires the use and wearing of appropriate PPE. Most of the work will be done standing throughout the day and there is some lifting up to 25 lbs.
