Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a talented Technical Writer to join our Mission Solutions team! The developer will be part of a diverse team supporting a modeling & simulation (M&S) program.
M&S provides a critical role in our nation's defense by bringing together medium to high fidelity threat system models into an integrated wargame simulation environment. Parsons has supported this program for over ten years, with an established team and excellent customer relationships. Because the need for accurate and integrated modeling, simulation, and analysis continues to grow; we are expanding our team to adapt to new challenges.
What You'll Be Doing:

• Update and maintain the program document template.
• Ensure all documents have a consistent writing style as well as look and feel, including conformance with program style guides where applicable.
• Update and maintain the Program of Record documentation, including the Concept of Operations, Systems Engineering Plan, Program Management Plan, Interface Control Document, Software Design Document, Security Classification Guide, Software User's Manual, etc.
• Ensuring all program technical documents are in the standard program format.
• Edit and review generated program technical documentation (e.g., API documentation). Create issues when documentation errors are found so developers can implement changes in source code.
• Assist in the maintenance and organization of Confluence Spaces, including setting up page layouts, assisting with user permissions, and reviewing internal team documentation for accuracy.
• Assist in the maintenance and organization of GitLab Wikis, including setting up page layouts, assisting with user permissions, and reviewing internal team documentation for accuracy.
• Create and maintain help documentation for program tools, with a goal of comprehensive documentation for all features.
• Update and maintain program Software Development Kit (SDK) documentation to include software developer guides.
• Assist in the creation of training materials to connect usage of multiple smaller features towards advanced user capabilities.
• Update and maintain verification & validation reports.
• Assist in the documentation of development processes and internal developer tools.

Required Clearance:

• Must have an Active Secret clearance, and the eligibility to obtain or maintain a TS/SCI with Counter Intelligence Polygraph.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years' experience providing Technical Writing support, including support to DoD programs.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with the latest Microsoft Office products

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Experience with Modeling & Simulation
• Experience supporting multiple teams
• Understanding of document version control
• Experience using Confluence by Atlassian
• Experience with graphic design and/or technical drawings
• Experience with User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design

Salary Range:
$33.89 - $59.33
