Company in Hillsboro, OR is seeking candidate who can lead with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions. Candidate has previous experience in the position of Controller and/or is/was a CPA. Candidate will oversee the accounting department, plan and direct all accounting operational functions, and handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements. Leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability will be essential for this role. The Controller must be highly organized and experienced with providing full financial information to the external CPA firm for a review and tax preparation. The candidate will be the controller for two separate companies operating at the same location for the same owner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations and all supporting document
• Direct the activities of the accounting department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections
• Arrange sales tax records and create and file month reports
• Organize subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement
• Semi monthly payroll through a payroll service
• Conducting daily bank reconciliations
• Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Requirements:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in QuickBook Enterprise Software
• Payroll processing experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or three years of experience as a controller or senior accountant or CPA wanting to move out of public accounting
