The Director of Technology will be responsible for operationalizing that vision and ensuring that network and technology services staff provide seamless support for instructional technology.Applicants must have or be eligible for New York administrative certification (SBL, SAS or SDA). Rush-Henrietta provides comprehensive mentoring and leadership development for all new administrators. Leadership candidates of diverse backgrounds and experience are strongly encouraged to apply.DESCRIPTION: As a Director of Technology, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of Rush-Henrietta’s educational institution, as well as serving as the district's Data Protection Officer. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the integration of technology into all aspects of the K-12 curriculum, ensuring that our students and faculty have access to cutting-edge tools and resources to enhance learning and teaching. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of educational pedagogy. ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan aligned with the educational goals and objectives of the institution.
  • Continuously assess and update the plan to stay current with advancements in technology and educational best practices.
  • Lead a dynamic 14-member team, ensuring their capacity to adapt to evolving needs.
Infrastructure Management
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the school's technology infrastructure, including network systems, hardware, software, and security protocols.
  • Ensure that all systems are reliable, secure, and optimized for educational use.
Curriculum Integration
  • Collaborate with program directors, building leaders, and teachers to integrate technology seamlessly into the K-12 curriculum.
  • Provide guidance and support in the selection and implementation of educational software, digital resources, and online learning platforms that are all in alignment with EdLaw 2-d compliance.
Digital Citizenship
  • Promote digital citizenship and responsible use of technology among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and ethical use of digital resources, cybersecurity practices, and data privacy compliance.
Budget Management
  • Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support the institution's technological needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology investments based on educational priorities and strategic goals.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Foster partnerships with parents, community organizations, and technology vendors to support the institution's technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and opportunities for enhancing technology integration in education.
