Job Summary: Responsible for bringing in a consistent flow of profitable new business in accordance with the company’s sales and marketing plan, in order to meet an annual sales goal.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Must have Associates Degree or higher.

License / Certifications:

  • Must have a Colorado Driver’s License and meet our Motor Vehicle Eligibility policy.

Specialized Skills

  • Must have an understanding of how to design and construct patios, retaining walls, water features, and irrigation and lighting systems.
  • Must have an understanding of how to use a transit to establish grade and create a grading plan.
  • Must have knowledge of construction safety practices.
  • Must be able to work extended work hours and have flexibility in scheduling; including evening, weekend, and holidays. Must have the ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Must be able to create accurate plans and specification sheets using the provided software.
  • Self-starter and self-disciplined
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • Creativity and accuracy in drawing
  • Keen eye for detail in design and preparation of estimates
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Command of the technical requirements to maintain database information.
  • Ability to present an effective sales presentation – written and verbal

  • Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
  • Frequently required to drive short to long distances
  • Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Frequent travel required within assigned territory
  • Occasionally works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels

Essential Duties:

  • Solicit sufficient new business opportunities to meet sales objectives.
  • Propose and sell design fees whenever possible.
  • Sell work within approved margin guidelines to achieve targeted job costs and profit margins.
  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to establish best pricing and verify pricing accuracy for each proposal.
  • Source and order specialty materials.
  • Research, understand and provide information to project supervisors about any permits that may be needed.
  • Communicate with the client and crews on a daily basis.
  • Create and sell change orders. Ensure all information is communicated to the Construction Project Supervisor.
  • Request and review all invoices for accuracy.
  • Participate in pre-and post-project walk-through.
  • Represent the company in appropriate industry organizations for the purpose of building relationships that lead to new business.
  • Participate in training events to improve skillset and become a better designer.

Please note that the salary information shown below is provided in compliance with state specific laws. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations, and therefore may be different in other locations or operating divisions.

Pay: $65,000 -$85,000
