Paid WeeklyFull Benefits Package (Health, Dental, Vision, Simplified Employee Pension, Paid Holidays, Paid time off, Company provided life and disability)This position is responsible for the execution of internal and external communication and promotional campaigns based upon the strategy and vision of the Executive Director. This position oversees public relations efforts, public involvement tactics when necessary and community relations efforts to increase usage of Authority services and raise awareness of the value of SRTA and related brands. Oversees the administration of the website and social media platforms.

Some Of The Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesManages the communications program for the Authority, which includes: managing Authority messaging in partnership with the Chief of Staff and Executive Director, external publications and reports, public involvement processes, and support materials for customer communications; developing and overseeing the implementation of the multi-year communications plan and related strategies and tactics; directing Authority's advertising and media placement program; and administration of the Authority's website and social media.
Manages the marketing program for the Authority, which includes: planning, implementing, and evaluating ridership campaigns, service promotions, and customer appeals; writing copy, overseeing the Authority's branding; overseeing the creation and production of marketing and advertising campaigns, and collateral and customer materials.
Manages public relations for the Authority, which includes: managing all public relations efforts serving as liaison to media, creating fact-sheets, writing and issuing press releases and coordinating press conferences; directing media release and public information communications; responding to or initiating media interest in Authority, service or transportation related information; maintaining relationships with and updating news directors, editors, and editorial boards on news about the Authority, its services, and other related issues; providing communications to public, employees, and other agencies during emergencies or a crisis; function as a part of the Authority's Incident Response Team; advising the Authority's senior management team of media interests, message points and effective protocol.
Preserves historical reference by establishing and maintaining a record-keeping system, documenting procedures and decisions, maintaining required documentation, and ensuring delivery of documents as necessary. Compiles and maintains a procedure system and organized office to ensure continuity of position
Maintains trust, confidence and protects the organization by keeping information confidential and disclosing only on a need to know basis; ensuring high ethical standards; and using good customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
Ensures communication and positive image of Authority by reviewing critical incidents, exceptions to policy and/or goal achievement with Supervisor.
Maintains cooperative relationship with coworkers and management by communicating necessary information, responding to requests, building rapport, adapting to various communication styles; and participating in problem- solving methods.
Supports the implementation, routine, and day-to-day functions of the SRTA Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the Agency Safety Plan (ASP).
Contributes to effective communications within the organization by establishing and maintaining effective communication lines with all staff members and general public. Keeps management and staff informed of critical information needed to ensure smooth operations.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational classes/workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in relevant professional societies.
Some Of The Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Experience
  • Minimum requirement of at least a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Communications or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible marketing experience.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity -- should be able to operate effectively amid ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Ability to understand transit systems operations and service area.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations in a timely manner.
  • Ability to be detail oriented, ensure accuracy, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be organized and work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to others' communication styles and adjust delivery method accordingly.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply technical approaches and systems to facilitate goals.
  • Knowledge of local organizations, community groups and governing bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and implement marketing and public relations programs.
  • Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, various shifts and weekend work.
  • Must meet hiring qualifications of an acceptable driving record and background verification in accordance with SRTA standards.
  • Ability to travel for organizational needs.
  • Must have regular attendance and punctuality.
