Alcom Printing Group, Inc. is Hiring a Controller Near Harleysville, PA

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the operations of the Accounting Department and staff of three. Will be responsible for journal entries, production accounting, sales and financial reports as required. Will reconcile company balance sheet accounts for the purpose of the preparation of the monthly financial statements.

Duties:

  • Maintains a consistent system of accounting procedures and controls over Alcom’s accounting transactions.
  • Classifies and records all corporate financial transactions in order to accurately determine company expenses and income.
  • Responsible for oversight of the accounting staff, performing ongoing staff performance updates; Identifies training needs within the department and implements cross training of staff where required.
  • Responsible for managing financial data and reporting required for CFO to produce Alcom’s monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Responsible for sales commission tracking and preparation of monthly sales commission report.
  • Responsible for credit and collection. Responsible for, but not limited to: investigate financial strength and ability to pay invoices for all new accounts and sets credit limits; continually review established accounts as to their ability and promptness of payment; establish communication with persons responsible for payment at troublesome accounts; determine advisability on continuance of credit on new jobs to be entered or already entered from daily job order register.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to maintain accurate monitoring of benefits billing and payroll requirements. Provides backup to payroll processing when required.
  • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of payroll accounting reports, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and cost accounting.
  • Manage all payments on weekly/monthly basis for the Pareto Captive (self-insured insurance)/ancillary medical/Stop Loss Insurance and Health Savings Account.
  • Responsible for managing journal entries and reconciliation of month end/ year-end balance sheets.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
  • Responsible for researching prospective/new customers for credit worthiness.
  • Maintains company credit cards, petty cash reconciliation, vendor W-9’s.
  • Files monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Prepares annual 1099 forms as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;
- Minimum 5 years proven work experience as a Controller or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
