B&D Contracting is Hiring a Fire Suppression Technician Near Harahan, LA
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Suppression System Technician to join our team. As a Fire Suppression System Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and maintaining fire suppression systems aboard vessels. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Rig, fabricate, and install fire suppression systems according to blueprints and specifications
- Perform tube bending, pipe threading, and soldering to connect pipes and fittings
- Read and interpret schematics to determine the layout of fire suppression systems
- Inspect and test fire suppression systems to ensure proper functioning
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on fire suppression systems
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fire Suppression Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting techniques and materials
- Proficiency in tube bending, pipe threading, and soldering
- Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately
- Experience with welding techniques such a stick welding is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and TWIC card
Note: All positions must be paid including internship positions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per year
