Signalscape is Hiring a Systems Administrator Near Hanover, MD

This position works under immediate management supervisionto perform a variety of General IT and Information Security tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Installs and configures information system hardware equipment including workstations, servers, VM’s- Windows 10 and server 2016/2019

• Monitor and complete basic configuration tasks of network devices to include SonicWall, Ruckus switches and WIFI AP’s

• Monitor and manage internal PBX VoIP phone system and other transport devices

• Microsoft 365 administrator

• Provide on-site support to users and enterprise systems in Data Center

• Administers enterprise applications and cloud services

• Install software releases, updates, and system upgrades

• Manages backup, antivirus, help desk, systems auditing

• Performs information security functions such as audits, education, and monitoring

• Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government policies. Provide configuration management and accurately assess the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities for each system. Apply system security using STIGs and SCAP tools for compliance.

• Develop thorough understanding of NIST 800-53, 800-171, CMMC, and JSIG controls, and determine which controls are applicable to the application

• Draft, assist, prepare and maintain all aspects of NIST RMF to include security Assessment and Authorization documentation (e.g., IA SOP, SSP, MSSP, RAR, SCTM, POA&M) on a variety of networks and systems

• Ensures that the company is compliant with software licensing requirements

• Develops documentation on configuration and processes

• Monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity

• Performs help desk and initial point of contact (internal) functions

• Maintain inventory and lifecycle of IT equipment

• Evaluate different types of equipment and services to make recommendations and purchases

• Monitor and manage IT services and support contracts with vendors

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience in system administration on Windows systems

• Strong working knowledge of Windows server and technologies required

• Working knowledge of popular Linux systems – Ubuntu and RHEL a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or proven experience with industry certifications

• Understanding of backup and recovery, network security, and licensing management required

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD 8570 certification, i.e., CompTIA Security

• Experience with ManageEngine products, PRTG and Synology

• U. S. Government TOP SECRECT/SCI security clearance required
