Job Description:

Under the direction of the Center Medical Director, the Nurse Supervisor supervises the day to day activities of all licensed medical staff and center functions that fall within the scope of the duties of licensed staff. This individual works to ensure an environment of team work and mutual respect between staff members. This position assists in the management donor flow to ensure donor satisfaction and center production is maximized while providing a safe, healthy, and friendly environment for both donor and staff.

This individual observes and monitors medical staff to ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.. This individual immediately addresses and deviations from SOP and regulations to lessen the likelihood of repeated infractions. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all activities and staff within their scope of responsibility are prepared for audit at all times.

The position works to ensure excellent customer service.

This person may be assigned to direct specialty donor programs as applicable to the center.

Job Functions:

In addition to the requirements of a Physician Substitute the functions of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Acts as primary contact to Medical Director and ensure physician/physician substitute logs are completed as required by SOP.
  • Ensures licensed staff are trained and competent in accordance with the center training plan and center SOPS.
  • Monitors staff performance of physical exams and informed consents on a routine schedule to ensure competency.
  • Oversees specialty program donor scheduling, recruitment activities, routine monitoring of donor suitability based on program requirements, and immunizations when applicable.
  • Acts as subject matter expert (SME) on all donor suitability questions and seeks out expert advice from medical director as needed.
  • Monitors and directs donor flow through the screening and physical exam process to ensure donors are moving through the center at the expected pace and seeks ways to improve work flow and identify efficiencies.
  • Provides routine feedback to Medical Director and Center Director through one on one communication, telephone updates, action reports and other management reports. Critical issues are communicated immediately.
  • Works directly with Center Management and QAS/designee to determine any corrective actions needed within the scope of authority.
  • Ensures licensed staff is compliant with SOPs, regulatory and cGMP requirements at all times.
  • Ensures all required medical licenses and certifications are maintained.
  • Monitors staff performance against existing standards routinely and provides immediate correction to staff as needed.
  • Schedules licensed staff to meet state staffing requirements. Manages any necessary absences and/or attendance events and work task schedules.
  • Provides immediate feedback to staff regarding deficient work practices and inappropriate work behaviors. Provides routine feedback to staff regarding work performance. Handles disciplinary actions as needed Provides input into annual evaluations.
  • Sets an example of good work ethic and encourages good work ethic in staff.
  • Travel to company meetings, conferences, and support at other centers will be required as necessary.
  • Maintains competence with all position required tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

You will be required to work within a cold environment, -30°C, for short periods of time.

Job Requirements, Qualifications, and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Valid RN License.
  • Previous experience in a supervisor role in a medical related field preferred.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods (four hours at a time).
  • Ability to drive or fly to company/industry meetings, training, and in support of other ADMA Centers as determined by supervisor.
  • Occupational Exposure to blood borne pathogens.
  • Available to work extended shifts.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or tug up to 40lbs.
  • Work requires extended periods of standing and bending.
  • Ability to train others required.
  • CPR certified or the ability to obtain certification preferred.

The competency of the Nurse Supervisor is assessed by the Center Director with input from the Medical Director.
