We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager for our Hammond, LA plant.

- If working at an MSHA regulated plant.
- Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering financial transactions.
- Assist Financial Controller with a timely monthly general ledger close by performing various closing duties such as preparing general journal entries and reconciling bank accounts.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Assist Financial Controller with budget and forecasting.
- Ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Assist Financial Controller with internal and external audits and SOX compliance requests as needed.
- Ensure transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures are followed; communicate exceptions to management.
- Provide support in the preparation and filing of monthly sales and use tax reports and payroll reports.
- Daily review of A/R invoicing.
- Primary function to review other employee’s entries, but ability to assist when needed:
- Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices are pain accurately and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Perform the application of payments to customer accounts.
- Daily AR invoicing.
- Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
- Positive, Team-based attitude
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting in the manufacturing setting.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills, with close attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently.
- Must maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
