Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Institute is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Hagerstown, MD

Our fast paced medical office is looking for a driven individual to join our team. We serve patients across several specialties and need a team member who can perform specialized tasks as well as deliver a great experience for our patients. Daily tasks include taking x-rays and ordering additional imaging, dispensing durable medical equipment, performing in-office procedures, communicating with other medical practices for coordination of care, and administrative responsibilities. Our office utilizes Allscripts EHR and previous experience is a bonus.

Compensation is based of experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Dispense DME items and meet all quality standards and documentation guidelines
  • Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc
  • Complete forms/requisitions as needed
  • Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure
  • Document patient information into the medical record
  • Assist management staff with supervisory activities
  • Participates with creation and implementation of departmental goals, processes and procedures
  • Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc
  • Collect patient information/history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines
  • Relay instructions to patients/families
  • Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data
  • Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol
  • Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
  • Restocking exam/procedure rooms
  • Answering calls, and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed and other front office responsibilities, as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
