Piedmont Aviation Component Services is looking for a qualified APU Assembly Technician . APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is a turbine engine utilized on the aircraft to provide electrical and pneumatic power during periods when the main engines are not running.

The following is a list of job duties that an APU Assembly Technician will perform :

• Responsible for the assembly, testing, and travelers related to LRUs, components, parts and tools.
• Secondary responsibilities consist of disassembly, cleaning, analytical inspection, rework schemes, painting, packaging, and other duties as assigned.
• Read and interprets maintenance manuals, or other technical data to determine the feasibility and method to perform the assigned task.
• Replaces or repairs damaged or worn engine parts and component parts using general hand tools, special tools, pneumatic tools and precision measuring equipment.

Assembles components with same tools and equipment.

• Maintains work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner, practices proper tool and FOD control.
• Accurately complete work orders, BOMs, data inputs within ERP system.
• Reads and understands Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, and ISO documentations and other related materials.
• Operates, maintains and services specialized equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED minimum.
• Experience in Honeywell 331 series APU’s preferred.
• Technical school courses in auto or diesel mechanics or machinist classes preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience required and must have a strong aptitude for acquiring new mechanical skills and knowledge.
• Experience in turbine engine overhaul or engine component overhaul required.
• FAA Airframe and / or Power Plant license or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools appropriate to the assigned tasks.
• Ability to locate, read and follow the technical data appropriate for the assigned task.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
