Assembly Technician

Our Assembly Technicians are highly detail-oriented individuals responsible for reading work orders, retrieving the appropriate material/parts, and assembling signs per the work orders instructions. The Assembly Technician is responsible for working with other departments and Team Members to ensure quality standards have been met and signs are being created to strict specifications for our customers. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning and assembling signs, applying adhesive tape, weeding extra material out of designs and lettering, assisting with quality inspections, packing, applying hardware, using a computer with company provided software daily to communicate with Team Members and find work order details. This Team Member would be responsible for cleaning and organizing workspaces and any other additional responsibilities as needed.

This is a Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift from 9:00 AM- 5:30 PM, in a predominantly standing position.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is a safety conscious individual, comfortable working in a production environment.
  • Is detail oriented and is always making an effort to double check their work.
  • Accepts constructive criticism and is always looking for ways to improve processes.
  • Has impeccable communication skills and can work in a team environment.

Education

  • High School Diploma - or the equivalent is required.

CompensationSignificant Monthly and Quarterly Bonus Opportunities

  • Monthly bonuses can be earned based on achieving the 95% complete and on time goal as well as properly managing labor and material expenses for gross profit (contribution margin) goals.
  • The entire Team has the same goals and if achieved, the monthly bonus is split evenly among all eligible team members.
  • Quarterly bonuses are based on going above and beyond for agreed upon contribution margin goals.

Paid Vacation and Holidays - After 90 Day Probationary Period

  • 8 paid holidays throughout the year (8 hours per holiday) and 52 hours paid vacation, sick days, or personal days. (This includes a Floating Holiday).
  • After 1 Year – 78 Hours Per Year
  • After 2 Years – 104 Hours Per Year
  • After 3 Years – 130 Hours Per Year
  • After 5 Years – 156 Hours Per Year

Employer Sponsored Insurance Plans – After 90 Day Probationary Period

  • Free Life Insurance policy of $25,000 is covered by Graphic Components.
  • Free Long-Term Disability Insurance is covered 100% by Graphic Components.
  • Free Health Insurance is available and covered 100% by Graphic Components. This covers the base plan, but we also currently offer a higher plan to choose from. Team Members would pay an additional premium for the higher plan ($21.27 a week).
  • Sponsored Dental Insurance is available meaning Graphic Components pays 50% of the cost of the base plan & 35% of the cost of the high plan and Team Members are responsible for the remaining balance; (both plans are less than $8.00 a week).
  • Sponsored Vision Insurance is available meaning Graphic Components pays 50% of the cost of the plan and the Team Members are responsible for the remaining balance ($0.77 a week).
  • Accident Coverage is available at the expense of the Team Member ($2.49 a week).
  • Dependents can be added to the Health, Vision & Dental policies at the expense of the Team Member

401k Plan –After 6 Months & 500 Hours of Full-Time Employment

  • Employer Sponsored 401k Plan with and up to 5% Company Match in Funds.
  • 100% Vested from Start of Plan.

Essential Functions

  • Monitoring- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Reading Comprehension- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Job Hazards- Will undergo safety training for production and manufacturing safety hazards.
  • Body Positioning- Will be expected to reach, walk stand lift 80 lbs. with or without accommodation during an 8–10-hour shift.

Classification: Non-Exempt, Regular, Full-Time Team Member

Working Conditions: Temperature controlled production environment.

Physical Demands: Physical demands associated with this position include walking, lifting, carrying materials (up to 50 lbs.), bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping, reach overhead, twisting, squatting and /or climbing. Must be able to carry out repetitive motions & substantial movements/ motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must have close visual acuity, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
