Job Title: Camp and Event Center Assistant Caretaker

Location: Camp Timber Trails, Tolland, MA (Foothills of the Berkshires)

Hours: 24 hours/week

Description: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Camp and Event Center Caretaker. Situated in the picturesque foothills of the Berkshires, our site offers a unique blend of natural beauty and community engagement. This part-time position requires someone who lives close by and is committed to maintaining the integrity and functionality of our facilities. We are initially seeking someone with availability on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week, beginning at 9am each day. Work to begin the second week of May.

Responsibilities:

• Site Maintenance: Regular upkeep and maintenance of the camp and event center facilities to ensure they remain safe, clean, and welcoming for guests and visitors.
• Groundskeeping: Maintain the outdoor areas including lawn care, gardening, and general landscaping to enhance the beauty of the site.
• Event Support: Assist in the setup and breakdown of events held at the center, ensuring all equipment and facilities are prepared and operational.
• Equipment Management: Proficiency in handling power tools and tractor operation for various maintenance tasks around the property.
• Hospitality: Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, offering assistance and information as needed.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with management regarding maintenance needs, supplies, and any issues that may arise.

Requirements:

• Proximity: Must live close to the camp and event center for timely response to maintenance needs and emergencies.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain high standards of cleanliness and functionality.
• People Skills: Friendly and hospitable demeanor, with excellent interpersonal skills to interact with guests and visitors.
• Experience: Previous experience in maintenance, landscaping, or similar roles preferred.
• Power Tools Proficiency: Comfortable and skilled in using various power tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Tractor Operation: Experience operating a tractor for groundskeeping and maintenance purposes is advantageous.
