Ten Design Studio is seeking a Lead Interior Designer.

Reporting to the Senior Designer, you will provide Interior Architecture and FF&E design direction for residential and commercial projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Together with the Senior Designer, lead the creative and conceptual stages of projects.
• Source furniture, antiques and art and bring original ideas to the studio.
• Development of custom furniture, including case pieces, upholstery, and lighting.
• Present designs to clients in coordination with Senior Designer.
• Provide strong project leadership and seamless service to our clients.
• Clear communication to team members and clients.
• Skilled space planning, knowledge of the planning process and building code.
• Produce delivery drawings and specifications to a design intent package level.
• Coordinate and oversee the project’s documentation, ensuring comments and revisions are up to date and communicated to contractors.
• Develop detailed specifications.
• Manage and check information produced by sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Troubleshoot problems and apply strategic thinking, with the ability to switch between various projects.

• Demonstrate a passionate love of design, art and creativity.
• Work alongside the Senior Designer at TEN design studio to lead multiple projects both locally and across the country.
• Work with support team and fellow designers to problem solve, accomplish sourcing tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Someone who has the ability to work directly with clients, project consultant teams, suppliers, contractors, architects and fabricators.
• Someone unafraid to take responsibility, ensuring TEN delivers seamless service to our clients.
• Someone with a proactive nature, great instincts and open to feedback.

The ideal candidate must have:

• A degree or equivalent in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
• At least 3 years post-graduate experience
• Full proficiency in Revit, Sketch-up and Google Workspace
• A strong technical ability and broad knowledge of materiality
• Experience working on all aspects of projects, through all stages of work, from concept to completion
• An understanding of project parameters, budgets and deadlines
• An eye for scale and balance, detail and colour
