Work Schedule: PRN

Location: Community Hospital

Responsibilities:

1. Student Nurse Externs may perform those tasks that are routine, repetitive and require no nursing judgement.
2. Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN), including but not limited to, monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
3. Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to, bathing, grooming and eating.
4. Assist with transportation of patients.
5. Assist with watching patients at Fall Risk, in their room.
6. Assist with specimen collection and supplies.
7. Clean and stock the department and patient rooms.
8. Participate as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues.

Qualifications –License, Education and/or Experience Required:

• Currently enrolled in a formal Board of Nursing approved undergraduate academic Nursing Program leading to a degree in nursing.
• Completion of at least three (3) semesters of Nursing School and in Good Academic Standing.
• Current BLS Certification required
• Able to work 24 hours per month while in school

This position's pay range is: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
