Grand Forks Air Force Base is located just outside Grand Forks, ND. The city of Grand Forks is situated in Grand Forks County in northeast North Dakota. The city's name comes from its location at the confluence of the Red River and the Red Lake River. Grand Forks is the state's third-largest city after Fargo and Bismarck. The city is also home to the University of North Dakota - one of the state's oldest higher educational institutions. Grand Forks is situated in the flat Red River Valley on the western shores of the Red River of the North. Along with East Grand Forks, its twin city, Grand Forks serves as the principal city of the Grand Forks Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also referred to as Greater Grand Forks. 

You can shop till you drop at big box Southside stores and unique Downtown boutiques. Cheer on championship sports teams at Ralph Engelstad Arena or Grammy winning entertainers at the Alerus Center. Responsibilities

Duties

  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy for complex psychiatric/social issues such as mental health conditions or emotional challenges.
  • Establish treatment plans to identify a patient's problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills and determine what assistance is needed.
  • Provide therapeutic measures geared towards securing cognitive and behavioral adjustment by recognizing and resolving issues related to patient's attitude towards themselves, family and/or others.
  • Conduct intake evaluations and psycho-diagnostic assessments to address diagnostic and treatment issues.
  • Utilize psychological assessment measures to explore the development of behavior patterns, mechanisms, and symptoms.
  • Work with line operational units to address mental health factors impacting human performance such as suicide, post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and anxiety disorders.
  • Provide psychological consultation, education and training to other mental health professionals, medical staff, military commanders/senior leaders and other Department of Defense and civilian providers

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.Basic Requirement for Social Worker:Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations for behavioral health patients, providing individual or group therapy, and formulating behavioral health interventions or treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
