This Position is Eligible for the Applicant Referral BonusThis position is located at Neuse Correctional Institution in Goldsboro, NC, Wayne County. This is a medium custody male facility. This position will perform first-line supervisory work of male offenders. Provide supervision/custody of offenders in their assigned food preparation and food service work areas. Oversee offender kitchen workers engaged in a variety of activities in food production including cooking, baking and serving food to the offender population. Work includes but not limited to communicating verbally and in writing; comprehend and abide by verbal and written instructions; input and comprehend computer data; secure and maintain equipment; read, comprehend and calculate menus; observe sanitary food handling practices; instruct and supervise offenders; understand food nutritional values; inventory and rotate stock; complete CPR, firearms and unarmed self-defense training.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document in the work experience section of the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in institutional food preparation and food services, in management of a commercial food service operations, or as a Correctional Officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Education and Experience for a Trainee Appointment High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of experience in institutional food preparation and food services, in management of a commercial food service operations, as a Correctional Officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
