JOB SUMMARY: Assigns and performs housekeeping duties throughout the building in accordance with established guidelines as required in the facility policy and procedures.
II. ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
1. Meets with scheduled housekeepers each day to review work assignments and make adjustments to assignments as necessary to accomplish all necessary tasks.
2. Performs cleaning duties according to schedule in required areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices; including washing and changing bed linens according to schedules.
3. Sweeps, dusts, dust mop, and wet mops all floors and stairways; spot cleans and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets and runners.
4. Collects trash and refuse from work areas( not including apartments) and places in designated pick-up areas.
5. Cleans, sanitizes and polish lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities; stocks dispenser as necessary.
6. Dusts, washes, sponge mops, sanitizes and hand shampoos furniture; dusts desk and floor lamps, cleans and polishes glass surfaces, woodwork, walls and sills.
7. Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames and sills.
8. Maintains equipment and material needed to perform work in a clean orderly condition.
9. Reports any needed repairs to the Facilities Manager.
10. Reports supply and equipment needs to the Facilities Manager for replenishing.
11. Checks throughout the day with the other scheduled housekeepers to insure assigned duties are being done. Meets with housekeeping staff at end of shift to get daily progress report of completed work. Communicated this information to the Facilities Manager.
12. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent facility, staff and resident information.
13. Assists Manager in correspondence including public relations communication with outside organizations, service groups and volunteers to solicit groups for entertainment if needed.
14. Attends and participates in inservice education classes and on-the-job training programs as required. Attends and participates in workshops, seminars, etc. as directed.
III. OTHER RELATED COMPETENCIES:
1. All other duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Manager or Executive Director.
2. Follows all established safety procedures and precautions.
IV. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Standing, walking, ascend/descend stairs, full range of motion, ability to lift/carry medium weight ( up to 50 lbs.), pushing/ pulling light weight (up to 60 lbs.), peripheral vision, corrected vision and hearing, depth perception and sense of touch. Must be able to operate housekeeping equipment. Must be able to work at heights over six (6) feet, vibration, skin irritants, lung irritants and chemicals.
V. PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize tasks, motivate people and work within a team. Must express or demonstrate and interest in working with a senior population. Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality and neat, clean appearance and must be willing to following department dress code. Must interact with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner. Must be able to read, write and speak English, preferably possessing a high school diploma. Must be able to follow instructions. Must possess good communication skills.
