Williamson County is Hiring a Compliance (Quality Assurance) Officer Near Georgetown, TX

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to Director of Facilities, responsible for providing quality assurance for all residential facilities and various Juvenile Services programs such as CORE Residential Treatment Program, Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP), Detention, and Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Manages and implements trainings required by the State of Texas and performs related tasks such as scheduling, trainer coordination, exam administration, and instructing.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

  • Conducts quality audits on programs and services within Juvenile Services: Including but not limited to the Detention facility, CORE Residential Program, and Juvenile Justice Alternative in accordance with the Texas Administrative Code Ch. 343

  • Conducts audits on the federal standards for the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)

  • Maintains federal PREA standards in accordance with federal standards, including monthly walk-throughs

  • Coordinates and prepares all required documentation for annual Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) audits/monitoring and inspections; leads tour and facilitatesinterviews

  • Reviews and maintains daily reports on programs from various Juvenile Services divisions

  • Serves as liaison to county maintenance department, food services provider, local fire department, and other entities to ensure required inspections, permits, and services are completed within timelines dictated by standards

  • Coordinates and implements all aspects of PREA including training, documentation and audit preparation

  • Coordinates new hire training instructors in specialized topics including Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and Trust-based Relational Intervention (TBRI); creates and disseminates new hire training schedules

  • Facilitates all new hire e-learnings and instructs selected new hire trainings

  • Attends all meetings and trainings as necessary

  • Performs special duties as assigned

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports directly to – Director of Facilities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position involves performing non-violent physical restraint
  • Position involves operating motor vehicles 
  • Position involves using mechanical restraint devices (handcuff and leg shackles)
  • Position involves prolonged standing, sitting, walking, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending and squatting

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
  • Continuous contact with youth accused or adjudicated of various crimes
  • May be required to perform work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, wet, conditions)

IRREGULAR HOURS

  • Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
  • May be deemed as essential personnel in the event of an emergency

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field and three (3) years of experience working in a Juvenile Justice or comparable facility (see licensure requirements below)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a non-disqualifying criminal history per Texas Administrative Code Sections 344.200 and 344.400
  • Working knowledge of specific job-related technology such as Office Suite

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required

  • Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) Juvenile Supervision Officer Certification (JSO) OR Juvenile Probation Officer Certification (JPO)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification (CPI)
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation Certification (CPR)
  • First Aid/AED Certification

Required within thirty (30) days of employment

  • Valid Texas driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • One (1) year of experience working in a quality assurance capacity
