Outstanding opportunity with a prominent provider of Full-Service Landscaping in the North Shore and Metro North area who is currently seeking an experienced Controller with robust operational accounting acumen. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will hold a pivotal senior management role, offering strategic guidance, maintaining financial stability, and making crucial management decisions pertaining to office operations and accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement consistent office processes, systems, and procedures to support operational divisions effectively.
  • Foster a high-performing office team through coaching, staff development, and fostering accountability to ensure timely task execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of Human Resource processes, including compliance, performance management, and recruitment strategies.
  • Establish and maintain documented accounting and office practices to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable, payroll, compliance tasks, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Managers to integrate reporting systems that align with budgeted Cascading Goals, enabling Operational Managers to access necessary operational reports and disseminate goals across the organization.
  • Oversee the management of company's indirect expenses, including specific expense lines such as Auto, Health, and Workers Comp/Employer’s liability Insurances.
  • Act as a strategic partner and resource for the Owner and Division Managers in financial planning and analysis, contributing to overall financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth, efficiency enhancements, and profitability improvements, and actively participate in executing these enhancements.

  • Preferred experience as a business executive overseeing 3-6 direct reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, administration, or related field; MBA degree desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial controls, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, operating plans, budgets, and projections.
