We are currently searching for an Aerospace Refining Operator in the refining department. This is full-time work, 5 days per week 8-hour Monday through Friday, overnight shift (10 : 00pm to 6 : 30am with 30 min lunch).

A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Follow safe chemical handling procedures with appropriate PPE.
• Operating automated and manual refining processes to produce Germanium metal.
• Collecting and analyzing water and powder samples.
• Use safe work practices and contribute to a healthy and respectful work environment.
• Assist engineering in continuous improvement efforts to ensure best manufacturing practices are developed and adhered to.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to multi-task.

BASIC SKILLS

An individual must have basic knowledge of math, measuring, tracking and inspecting.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical work is preferable.
• Experience in plumbing, mechanical or chemical handling is preferable.
• Must be familiar with basic machine shop tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

No one with a pacemaker can hold this position due to the radio frequencies that are generated by the equipment in the refining room.

These frequencies can affect a pacemaker.

• Ability to stand, use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach.
• Must have hand and finger dexterity.
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Ability to regularly lift and / or move up to 50 lbs. Occasionally, be able to lift 60 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Team player with good communication skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Ability to wear full face respiration equipment regularly during some processes.
