Skyfall Biologicals has a great opportunity to be involved at the beginning of a new production facility at our greenfield site in Geismar, Louisiana. As the Process Engineer, you will apply chemical engineering fundamentals to support safe design, startup and operation of a new pilot scale development facility followed by construction and startup of a new commercial scale production facility. Once commissioned, you will be responsible for the development of the operations group as well as providing the technical expertise for the optimization of the commercial process. This position requires a hands-on individual who understands chemical plant operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including ownership of the Process Safety Management Program.
• Specify process equipment and oversee system installation.
• Lead commissioning efforts and document equipment capabilities.
• Develop operating procedures and conduct operator training.
• Lead startup efforts including hands-on involvement with operations group.
• Monitor and analyze data to determine operating performance.
• Troubleshoot problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide leadership to process technicians including daily coaching and skills development.
• Work with Site Manager to establish and achieve production and site objectives.
• Work with Plant Facilities Manager to advance asset reliability.
• Work with Site Chemist to determine analytical support requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:

• BS Degree or higher in chemical engineering
• 5 years experience in Plant technical/operations support, Operations supervision is a plus.
• Plant Startup and/or Process development experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of distillation, fluid flow, heat transfer and reaction unit operations. PLC/DCS experience a plus.
• Equipment design and selection experience, Experience in process modeling software is a plus
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations including Process Safety Management
• Visible commitment to safety and proven effectiveness in working on teams.
• Knowledge of relevant computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Able to self-start, multitask and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Candidates must be capable of tolerating outdoor temperatures and weather conditions, working in a noisy environment while wearing PPE, lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders and stairs.
