JOB STATEMENT

The Staff Accountant is part of a team of accounting professionals that is responsible for completing the daily and monthly accounting tasks, inventory control and reconciliation, and project accounting functions for the Plant Accounting team. This role will support the team by investigating accounting questions and issues utilizing judgment and guidance from accounting standards.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A focus on process improvement, teamwork, and delivering results is critical. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Performs all monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks required to close the books for all manufacturing and warehouse locations.

•Prepare journal entries for the general ledger, and generate monthly reporting, account analyses and reconciliations.

•Monitor internal control processes daily through Synergy back-office system to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

•Prepares and analyzes account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.

•Process daily invoices and cash receipt transactions in the ERP system.

•Provide backup support for the AP function.

•Perform Dashboard and KPI reporting for the plant.

•Ensure an accurate fixed asset register, perform the annual fixed asset physical, add and remove assets as necessary and ensure agreement with the general ledger.

•Monitor T&E and P-Card usage and reconcile monthly statements.

•Ensure accurate mapping of account numbers between ledger and consolidation systems.

•Respond timely to requests for information and reports from internal customers and company management in various departments.

•Prepare periodic financial reports on both a routine and special request basis, meeting established deadlines (e.g., monthly results, forecasts, plans and Board of Directors meetings).

POSITION SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field is required.

•CPA/CMA (or working towards a certification) is a plus.

•Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.) are required.

•2-4 years of relevant experience in cost accounting or general accounting preferred.

•Experience in a manufacturing process environment is a plus.

•Understanding of GAAP and FASB announcements is a plus.
